It’s Geek Time was started in January 2010 by John and Allan in the hopes of getting their views out to the geek populace at large. IT guys by day, geeks all day long, John and Allan have been immersed in the geek culture since 1981 and decided that it was time to share their views and knowledge with the public.
Allan:
Allan grew up in the harsh climate of Southern Maine. Allan’s geek career began very early with his father’s old Apple IIc and his first Atari 2600 in second grade. His parents continued to expand his geek horizons with The Hobbit in 3rd grade, and the rest is history. Allan culminated his geek education with a BS in Computer Science from RPI and now works as the IT guy at MTECH Laboratories in Ballston Spa, NY.
John:
John grew up on the mean streets of Bedford, NY with his 1,000 dogs. For a while, the world of the geek was a strange place as all of John's relatives were older and really all he did when he was young was rock out on the Atari and Nintendo. He also has fond memories of setting up giant Battlemasters games and playing both sides.
When John got to college and met Allan, the geek was quickly unleashed. Freshman year was filled with pen and paper gaming and Hot Lan action. We hosted our own counterstrike server and played more hours of Team Fortress and Half life classic then i can remember.
At the moment, a lot of my gamer time is spent on my 360 and playing World of Warcraft. I currently Work as an IT guy for General Dynamics. And of course, review things for your Geeking pleasure.
