Soon after I bought my Saitek Cyborg v.5 Keyboard my Razer Deathadder started dying.  Since I am weird and like having my peripherals match each other, I decided to try out the Saitek Cyborg v.3 gaming mouse to go with my keyboard.  So my desk is now full of glowing red gaming peripherals and it looks pretty cool.

On paper the Cyborg v.3 mouse looks a lot like the Deathadder; 3200 Dpi, 3 buttons, it glows.  In action it feels as responsive as the Deathadder so I do not think these specs are inflated.  As far as movement performance goes, I am very happy with this mouse and it is a good replacement for the Deathadder.

The main problem I have with this mouse is it feels a bit awkward in my hands.  My hands sit on the mouse in such a way that the buttons do not click very well for me.  In order to use it effectively I have to move my hand forward so my fingers can reach the left and right mouse buttons.  Even then the buttons do not have a very good action to them, they are a bit stiff and it does not feel very good.

The construction of the mouse feels about the same as some default mice I got from Dell a year or so back.  This does not concern me too much, but it just feels kind of cheap (at least it was cheap when I bought it).  This cheap feeling may be part of the problem with the button action.

Much like the keyboard, this mouse is a step up from the aforementioned Dell mice, but does not quite reach the level of Logitech or Razer gaming mice.  For the price (was around $20 when I bought it) it is a good deal, but if you can afford a Logitech G500 or Razer Deathadder, I would recommend those.  It’s Geektime gives the Saitek Cyborg v.3 Gaming mouse a 6 on the d10 of gaming peripherals
